Paneer chilli is one of the delicious Indo-Chinese recipes made with paneer cubes. chilli based recipes are very common starters from the Indo-Chinese cuisine, particularly the chilli chicken has a huge fan following because of its tender chicken pieces in chilli sauce. I am a huge fan of paneer and Indo-Chinese recipes. I have deep fried the paneer cubes with a spiced batter to give them a crisp covering before adding them to sweet, sour, and spicy sauces. There are many ways of making it, you can make it dry, semi-dry, or with gravy.
PREPARATION TIME: 15mins.
100 grams of fresh paneer.
1-2 diced capsicum and onions
1-inch ginger finely chopped
3-4 cloves of garlic finely chopped.
3 tsp chilli sauce.
3 tsp soya sauce.
2 tsp all-purpose flour/ maida
5 tsp cornflour.
1 tsp salt.
1 tsp red chili powder.
COOKING TIME: 20mins.
LET'S GET STARTED...!!
STEP1: Take a bowl and add 2 tsp of all-purpose flour, 5 tsp cornflour, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp red chili powder, add 4-5 tsp water and mix them until totally combined.
STEP 2: Add the paneer cubes to the batter and mix it well. Let it sit for around 5 mins.
STEP3: After 5 mins take a pan and add oil to it, let the oil boil, and add the paneer cubes to it.
STEP4: Deep fry them until golden brown. TIP: Add a pinch of salt to the oil so that the paneer does not absorb a lot of oil.
STEP5: Take a pan and add 4 tsp of oil, 1 tsp finely chopped ginger, and garlic and saute them for about 2-3 mins.
STEP6: Add diced onions and capsicum to the pan add saute them for about 5-6 mins.
STEP7: Add 3 tsp chili sauce and 3 tsp soya sauce and mix them well.
STEP8: Add the fried paneer cubes and little green onions and mix them well.
STEP9: Serve it hot and garnish it with green onions.
