Homemade Lasagna is a classic that every cook should have in their rotation. Tender sheets of pasta, a cheese filling, and a rich tomato sauce make the perfect dish! While there are a few steps to this recipe, it’s easy to make and has huge flavor. This dish can be made ahead of time and freezes well either before or after baking! Adding vegetables enhances the taste and also makes it healthy. I have divided this recipe into three parts the cheese sauce, tomato sauce and the vegetable stuffing.



PREPARATION TIME: 15mins.

INGREDIENTS FOR STUFFING.

  • 1 medium-sized red bell pepper diced.

  • 1 medium-sized yellow bell pepper diced.

  • 1 medium-sized green bell pepper diced.

  • 1 cup boiled corn.

  • 1 cup boiled broccoli.

  • 4-5 garlic cloves minced.

  • 1 tsp salt.

  • 1 tbsp oregano.

  • 1 tbsp chilli flakes.

  • 10-15 strips of lasagna sheets boiled.

INGREDIENTS FOR TOMATO SAUCE.

  • 1 medium-sized onion finely chopped.

  • 4-5 garlic cloves minced.

  • 3 medium-sized tomatoes pure.

  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1tbsp oregano

  • 1 tbsp chilli flakes

INGREDIENTS FOR CHEESE SAUCE.

1 cup milk.

1/2 cup all-purpose flour.

4 tsp butter.

1 tsp salt.

1 tsp oregano.

1tsp chilli flakes.

1 tsp sugar.



COOKING TIME: 25mins.

LET'S GET STARTED...!!!

FOR THE STUFFING.

STEP1: Take pan add 2 tsp oil, add minced garlic and saute them for 2-3 mins.

STEP2: Add red, green and yellow bell pepper and saute them for 5 mins.

STEP3: Add boiled brocoli and 1 cup boiled corn and saute them.

STEP4: Once sauted add 1 tsp salt, 1 tbsp oregano, 1 tbsp chilli flakes and mix them well.

STEP5: Transfer it into a container and let it cool.

FOR THE TOMATO SAUCE.

STEP1: Take a pan and add 2 tsp of oil, and minced garlic and saute them for 2-3 mins.

STEP2: Add finely chopped onions and saute them for 4 mins.

STEP3:After the onions have been sauteed add the tomato puree and mix them well and cook them for 5 mins.

STEP4: Add 1 tsp salt, 1tsp oregano and 1 tsp chilli flakes mix it well. Once done let it cool.


FOR THE CHEESE SAUCE.

STEP1: Take a pan add 4 tsp of butter, add all-purpose flour simultaneously and keep on mixing until there are no lumps.

STEP2: Add milk to the mix in portions keep on mixing it, make sure there are no lumps formed.

STEP3: Add 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp of sugar (you can also add oregano and chilli flakes) optional.



Once all the sauces and stuffing is ready let's get started with the layering.

STEP1: Add a layer of the tomato sauce to the base of the mould or container in which you want to make your lasagna.

STEP2: Add the layer of boiled pasta sheet.


STEP3: Add a layer of the stuffing.

STEP4: Add a layer of cheese sauce and repeat these steps until you reace your desired hight.

STEP5: On the last layer add a generous layer of cheese and bake it for 10 mins at 200 degrees.

STEP6: Once the lasagna is out of the oven serve it hot.
